Tips for Choosing an Event Planner
What you need to know before deciding who to team up with.
Hiring an event planner doesn’t have to be a daunting task.
- Regardless of whether it’s a social or corporate event, the rules of hiring an event planner remain the same:
- Check their client list as this will give you a good idea on the planner’s caliber and experience.
- Read past clients’ testimonials posted publicly or reached through word of mouth. Also bear in mind, however, that durability of their relationship over the years is the strongest vote of confidence.
- Explore past projects to indicate the quality & type of expertise they actually have, the range of services offered, decoration variety provided & entertainment options suggested. Is each event unique or is the planner following a comfortable for them pattern making all events look similar?
- Discuss with planner to find out their methodology. Ask them how they approach each project from start to end; what steps will the design process involve; and of course, within what timeframe they’ll be working. Getting the right answers will let you know that you’re dealing with a real pro.
